STONE SOUR Frontman Records Video Message In Support Of Nashville Flood Relief
May 11, 2010Corey Taylor of STONE SOUR and SLIPKNOT has recorded a video message (see below) for Gibson Foundation, requesting your assistance with the Nashville flood relief effort.
100% of all monies collected by Gibson Foundation will go directly to Nashville flood relief.
According to Newsweek, torrential downpours in the southeast flooded the Tennessee capital of Nashville earlier in the month, lifting the Cumberland River 13 feet above flood stage, causing an estimated $1 billion in damage, and killing more than 30 people. It could wind up being one of the most expensive natural disasters in U.S. history.
STONE SOUR's currently recording its third album, "Audio Secrecy", at Blackbird Studios, the state-of-the-art Nashville recording compound, for a summer release via Roadrunner Records.
There's no word on whether STONE SOUR's sessions at Blackbird were affected by the recent flooding which decimated Nashville.
"Audio Secrecy" is the follow-up to STONE SOUR's gold-certified 2006 second album, "Come What(ever) May", which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard album chart and included the hits "Through Glass", "Sillyworld" and "Made Of Scars".
Taylor and guitarist James Root are also members of SLIPKNOT.
The new disc will come out later this summer, just as STONE SOUR embarks on the inaugural Uproar Festival tour with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and DISTURBED. The trek kicks off on August 17 in Minneapolis and will hit 36 cities.
